'KIP'
began competing in Agility in 2003. In 2004 she won
the Open class at the Brisbane Royal and in 2005 she
gained her JDM and ADX titles at the same trial. In
2006 she gained her ADM title.
Obedience
'KIP' gained her ET in
2004 and will begin competing in Obedience in 2007.
Conformation
'KIP' was awarded Baby
Puppy in Group at her first show and has received credits
along the way including Baby Puppy, Minor of Breed, and
Junior of Breed. Now as a mature bitch, 'KIP' has
been awarded Best of Breed and Best Australian Working
Dog.
A number of comments have
been given about her beautiful movement including Mr
Gunter (NSW) who said her movement was 'simply
beautiful' and 'working dogs should move like this.' (08/04/06)

Herding
'KIP' gained her HIT
title in 2003 and, in 2004 she trialled in her first
Started Trial where she was Reserve High In Trial (to our
teacher no less!), and gained her first pass. 'KIP'
took 2005 motherhood and goes back into training in 2006.
Acting
'KIP' has been involved
in photo shoots for pet foods and was the understudy for
my older bitch, Denny, in a Bio-Magnetics TV commercial.
She will continue her trick training for any future
TV/Film appearances (see
Animal Actors for more).

'DENNY'
began in 2001 gaining her AD, JD & JDX titles. By 2002 she
had her ADX & JDM titles and represented Qld. in the
National Teams Challenge in Canberra, ACT. 'DENNY',
while not the fastest Kelpie in the world, is honest and
has a great work ethic. It is this combination that
gained her the 2005 'May Madness' Highest Point
Scorer and SEQ Agility Dog of the Year, 2005.
Obedience
'DENNY' began competing
at 10 months and gained her CD title at just 15 months.
She got her first to CDX passes quite quickly but her
dislike of Open meant we had to wait another 18 months
before gaining that title. We took some time away
from obedience and started UD training. Fortunately,
she loves this part of obedience and we will be back in
the ring in 2007. |

Conformation
'DENNY' only ever competed in
one show before being desexed, where she came a creditable
second in the Baby Puppy class. 'DENNY' suffers from a
condition known as CDA (Colour Dilution Alopecia) and, while not
harmful or contagious, this condition causes hair to be thinner
on 'dilute' coloured dogs (Blues and Fawns). The coverage
varies from dog to dog with some dogs being so effected as to be
almost bald. This condition gives 'DENNY' her patchy
appearance with the lighter sides and dark dorsal stripe.
Herding
This ANKC sport was introduced
in Qld in 2002. 'DENNY' began in 2003 gaining her HIT
title. In 2004, in just 3 trials, 'DENNY' passed in all
with above average scores and gained her Started Title. We
took 2005 away from herding but will be back in 2006 and looking
forward to working under the new rules and competing in Started
A course and Intermediate B course.
Acting
'DENNY' has appeared in Women's
Weekly Magazine, Totally Wild TVS, a short film called 'Crying
Wolf', a Bio-Magnetics TV Commercial and even on radio 4BC with
Ian 'Bear' Maurice. At just 10 weeks of age, 'DENNY'
had the privilege of meeting two Ferrets, two Eagles and a 20
year old Tiger on the set of BeastMaster while my old dog, Max,
was filming in this series (see
Animal Actors for more). |
